Personality
Work in progress.
- Hard to see much expression on his face since it's always in resting bitch mode, but he's usually just in his own head
- Has a lot of random facts about animals, naturally a sponge for animal facts (and he really loves chocobos once introduced to them, Dashdorj is his companion)
- He has a sense of humour. He sure does (he likes morbid and dark humour)
Story
Intro
Hailing from the Azim Steppe himself under the Khatayin tribe, Khaliun has gotten fed up with the cycling, unchanging lifestyle of the nomadic goat hunters, of the Naadams he never partook in, and the feuding of the tribes. Seen as a brother and warrior to his clan, having his own Yol, it did hurt to eventually leave the clan around the age of 16-18 to find something greater in his life, even amidst the Garlean incursion in Doma.
A tribe which largely remains unseen, hunting goats in the mountains for nine moons of the year. The remaining three are spent at the foot of the great north range, where they survive off the dried meat they stocked.
Additional Disorganized Thoughts (SPOILERS)
- Khatayin clan were hunters (often surviving off hunting goats/wildlife for 9 months, then surviving off dried meats for the 3 others)
- Khaliun is numb to the loss of people like Haurchefant or shit that went down like the ARR banquet; has seen a lot of loss of lives? Probs the norm for nomad tribes to just lose ppl

Strong body … same energy as ‘looks like a bookworm, could punch you in the face’
- Canonically warrior/lancer in class (obvs dragoon by extension), usually does tend to wear less clothing due to the hot weather so you do see he's more built; applies more for covered outfits
- If the ‘eyepatch’ is ever worn he only says its to fool people into thinking he’s got a missing eye/lower their guard if they fight (even tho he can see through it)
- Definitely has been adjusted to other races, unsure as to the why though and how he got out … might need food on other Xaela who left the tribes

Thinks the naadam is silly in terms of Xaela getting so competitive over it, but he has
a dislike of flaunting/pride over their ‘control’. If fighting prowess, sure, but not
‘haha hehe we’re of father azim’ like stfu
- As such, gets heavily annoyed by the Oronir clan, would butt heats with Magnai and chew on him loudly (they have not liked each other from childhood)
- Adopted the ‘little sun’ nickname from Y’shtola to insult him
- Has far more respect for the Dotharl

Took a near fatal injury in his youth, gored through the stomach by one of the steppe

- Although he's recovered from it, he still gets phantom pains and may run out of breath faster when exerting himself, not always

Left around 16-18, was around for Garlean occupation of Doma since he’s ~30 now, so they
conquered when he was ~5
- Most likely the reason was fed up with the way of living because it's very stationary, esp since his clan doesnt partake in the Naadam

Already went through his warrior trial and had his own Yol, but it got left
behind with his clan
- Prefers his Yol over horseriding, loves chocobos hell of a lot more than horses
- Worked at the Gold Saucer for a time as a host, origin of his bunny outfit
- Maybe joined some pirate crew and it's how he got to Limsa Lominsa? Why he'd join the Maelstorm
- Only child, but basically was seen as an older brother figure in his own clan

Passionate about hunting, basically a survivalist through and through
- Omnicrafter is very fitting, though he’d work best with carpenter, weaver, culinarian, and leatherworker, and all gathering classes (minus miner, not as good there)
Even outside of the whole WoL storyline, he'd just be a guy who left home because he wanted to venture outside of Azim Steppe and most likely took on odd jobs. Would just be a secondary participant during any storyline beats that include the Azim Steppe, or for defending Limsa Lominsa.
Design
Design sheet, needs to be remade for his lancer/canon outfit but this is his magical DPS fit
Design Notes
- I'll eventually put up his outfits ... he has one for each 'class' of jobs (physical DPS, healer, etc.)
- I imagine his tail longer and thicker than the base model
- Scaled forearms with clawed hands, patches of scales across his skin, his feet are more reptilian shaped, akin to the early Au Ra concept art
